A great Model

I puchased this model along with D9018 to add to my collection of Deltic engines. I was not disappointed with my purchase. It is an accurate well detailed model that met with my expectations.
I remember these locos from my childhood, sitting on the chalk cliffs outside Hitchin station collecting numbers and listening to the roar of the engines as they accellerated away to London or the North.
A truly excellent representation of the sound and sight of these powerful locos.

D9000

The locomotive is modelled as it appeared in the 1990’s when on hire to Virgin Cross Country. It’s brings back happy memories of travelling Birmingham to Ramsgate and back on summer Saturdays.

Great product, but …..

Had waited 2 years for this loco and it arrived just in time to make my Christmas! The loco is a work of art and of the highest quality finish. The decoration is superb and so are the features of the loco.

But I was quite disappointed that there is no comprehensive user manual, especially giving the function codes. Did find them on the web but that is not acceptable. For having done such a fantastic job on the project Accurascale should have done better on this too.

a comprehensive manual and DCC function chart is included in the locomotive box. If yours is missing do please get onto support.

Another Deltic and another super model

This loco is excellent, the sound as always is how a Deltic should be and takes me back to standing on Kensington Olympia in the summer of 1998 as RSG rolled in to take me to Ramsgate.
The decoration is up to the usual high standards, the shedplates and the D9000 plaques are very good additions. To round it off, the window sticker really takes me back to the VXC service.

Deltic D 9000 : An elusive 'Presence'

The long wait for the arrival of this Deltic locomotive is at last over. Unboxing the engine took some time as it was very carefully packaged to ensure maximum protection from the inevitable knocks and bangs experienced on its long journey.
What struck me when the protection had been removed and the locomotive placed on the track was that sense of 'presence'. The detail of the real engine has been faithfully reproduced. The slightly raked nose and an astonishing level of roof detail plus faithful reproduction of the body shape are all there to see. You really get the impression that the twin Napier engines lurk behind the body and roof panels ready to burst into life.
However, the detail aside what is really striking is the models ability to run smoothly and responsively. The DCC system I use is the NCE Power Cab which
I have found to be excellent on my end to end layout. I think this second series of Deltics from Accurascale represents a significant improvement on their first importation. Having now been run for a number of hours the various functions all seem to work flawlessly and I have experienced no instances of poor operation or body detail being left at the trackside.
Yes, it is a quite expensive model but the quality of the product is indisputable.
