Container Liners
First introduced by CIÉ in 1971 and still in service today, these 42’ 9” bogie flat wagons have travelled extensively throughout the CIÉ/Irish Rail and Northern Ireland Railway networks. They are probably best known for their use on the Bell and B&I liner trains, which ran from the late 1970s until the early ‘90s. More recently, they have also found use conveying spoil, as well as being pressed into use in Irish Rail’s weed spray train.
