BR J68 68646 fue construido en septiembre de 1912, parte de el primer lote de la Clase C72 mejorada de A.J Hill, el desarrollo final de las clases 0-6-0T de Holden . Primero numerado como 50 bajo el GER, luego 7050 bajo LNER, 68646 pasó su vida trabajando en los servicios suburbanos 'clásicos' Buckjumper fuera del cobertizo de Stratford; primero, en los servicios de Enfield Town y Chingford 'Jazz' y luego en lugares como North Woolwich, Palace Gates y Blackheath. 68646 fue, junto con 68649, el único J68 que recibió el 'último' escudo de los Ferrocarriles Británicos .
