High Performance traction features;

  • High quality 5-pole motor with two large flywheels
  • Helical Gear box for maximum performance and slow speed running
  • Gearing arranged so locomotive can achieve a scale top speed of 90 mph (145 km/h)
  • Outer axles on bogies are driven (sprung dummy centre axle) and all wheel pickup

Fully detailed Lighting Pack features:

  • Directional lighting, DC and DCC
  • Lighting clusters with appropriate day and night-time settings
  • Switchable Red and white marker lights (red can be switched individual lights or both on)

Brilliant Class 31

I knew this locomotive was going to be good but it is exceptional. The detail, paint finish, working roof fan etc are superb, it comes alive with the most realistic sound I have heard in a model locomotive. The cold start is brilliant and I love it.

Stunning model, looks spot on. Running very smooth and quiet straight from the box. With sound the model comes alive. Decoration is superb, so good to have blue pre tops locos.

We can be said about this model. It’s a 31 through and through. Cant wait to weather it up and add it to the roster.

I'm struggling to think of anything new to add to the superlatives already published about the Accurascale 31s - simply superb. My only niggle is the headcode lighting on the earlier versions such as this one which only have the outer digits lit. Hopefully there will be a work around to sort this before long

Pre-TOPS Class 31

This locomotive is a must for any pre-TOPS era modeler. Superb detail for a fair price that has become the hallmark of Accurascale.

This is the 3rd accurascale diesel ive had and for me its the best yet. Nothing loose, no wobbles and the sound fires up first time. Really well done :)

Great model and DCC Sound

The wheels were very dirty when it arrived. It would not run. As I cleaned a patch of track for it to rule out dirty track, some of the spirit must have contacted a dirty wheel. It started jerking to life. After spending 30 minutes cleaning wheels on my rolling road, it ran fine.

Sounds fantastic

The locomotive is brilliant and the sound ,system combine with the hall sensor and very clever electronics sets it apart from the rest. Although the 2nd man's seat was rattling around in the cab. It hadn't seen any glue. Now fixed. I've one part that I found in the box but have yet found wear it goes. It's rather small . Brooklyn Rd model railway
