Mark 5 Update: TPE CAD Complete!
Our Mark 5 project has proven to be a mammoth task, with design of the TPE and Caledonian Sleeper stock continuing over the last few months, along with survey trips to Polmadie and Longsight depots.
We are delighted to report that significant progress has been made, and as you can see above, the CAD for the TPE Mark 5 set is now complete!
The Mk5a vehicles recently entered service in fixed formations of five coach sets between Liverpool, Manchester Airport, Scarborough and Middlesbrough, hauled by a dedicated pool of Class 68 locomotives.
Our TPE sets have been hugely popular with pre-orders, with modellers delighted by the very friendly size of a five coach set and the chance to replicate a modern loco hauled train on current era layouts. With CAD now complete on these, our attention now turns to the Caledonian Sleeper cars, with CAD on these now underway.
As with all Accurascale models, our Mark 5s will have a very high specification Coach specific details, including but not limited to;
- Separately applied etched metal and high fidelity plastic detail parts, including handrails, brake pipes
- NEM standard coupling sockets with mini-tension-lock couplers with Kinematic close coupling system and provided close coupling bars
- Prism Free Glazing
- Fully detailed Underframe
- Fully detailed and painted / printed accurate interiors
- Fully detailed Lighting Pack, including:
- Directional lighting, DC and DCC (Driving Trailer only)
- Interior Coach lighting with Stay-Alive Capacitor
- Illuminated destination boards
- RP25-110 wheels OO wheels with provision for re-gauging to p4 and EM gauge
- Fully sprung metal buffers where applicable
- Extra fine factory-fitted pipework
- Minimum Radius 438mm (2nd Radius Set-track)
- Coach Length: 289mm
We are offering two different TPE Packs with two different running numbers to allow you to have two sets of unique coaches on your layout! Price for the OO model is £225 per set of five coaches, which can be paid up front today, or you can pay £30 to secure your order now, with the balance payable when the coaches arrive in stock.
