Pre-TOPS HUO wagons now in stock!
We are delighted to announce that our first British outline model, the BR 24 ton coal hopper (HOP 24 and later HUO under the BR TOPS system) has arrived in stock!
A total of 5,263 wagons were built by BR from 1954 for transporting coal and coke throughout Britain until their withdrawal in the 1980s, with many entering private use at collieries upon retirement by British Rail.
The model, which is of the 3121 (1958), 3221 (1959), 3314 (1960), 3374 (1961), 3426 (1962 – listed 1/154 pattern but the design is actually identical), and 3437 (1962) pattern.
We had this model announced for us by a prominent UK modelling magazine title back in January in error (though we have forgiven them now!) and we are glad to report that we have model in stock by May, just as we promised!
Since their arrival from China, we have been working into the small hours getting the vast preorder book wrapped and ready for dispatch. Our first bulk shipment went out today (Friday) and will be landing in their new homes early next week. We think they have come out pretty good and we hope that you guys think so too when you get your hands on them next week!
We still have stock of all five pack variants left, but in recent weeks they have been selling fast. Make sure you don’t miss out if you want some, place an order now for immediate dispatch.
The first five packs in stock are the pre TOPS variants. These are in sets of three, with each wagon having a different individual running number to allow a fully authentic train to be built up and can be seen below.
The TOPS and private owner variants are due later this summer and we will have further Accurascale announcements shortly!
