Class 55 'Deltic' - BR Blue - 55004 - Queen's Own Highlander

Much requested is our first Haymarket-allocated TOPS blue Deltic, represented here by 55004 in 1977 condition, just after having its headcode box plated over. Notably this was one of just four members of the fleet to feature unpainted front windscreen frames during the mid to late 1970s.

Really pleased with the locomotive, you get such a lot for a great price. You couldn't ask for more, captures the look in every aspect. Well packaged too so totally recommend this.

Ever since Accurascale announced their Deltic model, I've wanted a plain blue Haymarket allocated loco.... and here it is.

This model has a presence as soon as you open the box. The weight as you pick it out of the packaging is impressive.

5//5 again, team Accurascale.

This 2nd batch of the Deltic locomotives shows some subtle but significant improvements over the initial batch. No loose detail floating around in the box this time, and the treatment with the bogie chains is a vast improvement.

A great model

An excellent finish and very smooth running with a good heavy weight. Certainly the best looking OO example available. Unfortunately I seem to have missed out on D9000 which having bought 55004 I wanted another.
