Class 55 'Deltic' - BR Blue - 55020 - Nimbus

One of just three Deltics to never receive plated headcode boxes, 55020 is also notable for retaining the mountings for the cab roof horns worn during the early 1960s. Our model is based on its 1976 condition with standard-sized domino headcodes, although alternative smaller dots will be provided.

Totally convincing

I was looking for a Deltic that had visited the Western Region while they were in still in their pomp - and 'Nimbus' was it. A smooth and powerful runner that looks great lumbering between depot and race track, and even without sound conveys that 'contained fury' that I remember while following them around in the seventies.

Big blue Deltic

I train spotted all the Deltics, when they ruled the east coast main line. My new Deltic was like revisiting those great days, the model has really captured that imposing big yellow nose, and sleek lines of the Deltics. Watching 55020 fly round my layout with nine coaches brought it all back, an absolutely superb model, fantastic!!

Very pleased how slow and smoothly this loco runs also very quiet. (Not sound version).
