BR J68 68646 a été construit en septembre 1912, faisant partie du premier lot de la classe C72 améliorée d'A.J Hill, le développement final des classes 0-6-0T de Holden . D'abord numéroté 50 sous le GER, puis 7050 sous le LNER, 68646 a passé sa vie à travailler les services de banlieue "classiques" Buckjumper à partir du hangar de Stratford ; tout d'abord, sur les services de jazz d'Enfield Town et de Chingford , puis dans des endroits tels que North Woolwich, Palace Gates et Blackheath. 68646 était, avec 68649, le seul J68 à recevoir l'écusson des chemins de fer britanniques .
