La fin de la chaîne de production après 18 ans et plusieurs centaines de locomotives était la 66779. Cette locomotive a été spécialement finie en vert rayé des chemins de fer britanniques, elle devait être nommée "Evening Star". La locomotive portait également des cloches commémoratives au-dessus des fenêtres de la cabine et une plaque indiquant son importance dans l'histoire de la classe 66. Son apparence reflétait celle de la classe BR 9F 92220, Evening Star, qui a fait tomber le rideau sur la production de vapeur pour les chemins de fer britanniques. Lors d'une cérémonie de dévoilement à York le 10 mai 2016, le PDG de GBRf, John Smith, a promis la locomotive au National Railway Museum lorsqu'elle atteindra la fin de sa durée de vie prévue. Portant toujours sa livrée verte spéciale doublée BR, on peut le voir travailler à travers le pays sur toutes sortes de travaux GBRf. bogies à six essieux à traction intégrale, un puissant moteur à double volant et un ensemble électronique leader sur le marché.

Great model, very nicely detailed and runs very smoothly. The box art is very nice too!
Yet another fantastic model from Accurascale. I was fortunate to get one of the "spare" models after the initial batch sold out.
Accurascale have done a great job of sorting out the problems with the original Hattons' version of this model and the rotating axle box issue seems to have been solved, subject to longer running. Separating the body from the chassis is a lot easier now, it took about 10 minutes to remove the body, replace the buffer beam, add crew and replace the body, and no sign of any damage to the ladders.
You open the box and Wow, what a beautiful model, perfect satin sheen. You lift the loco out and it feels like quality - heavyweight, detailed but not fragile. You put it on the track and it runs perfectly straight from the box. The assurance of a lifetime warrantly. £170 and worth every penny. This is what buying a model should feel like every time. Thank you Accurascale for making me feel that valued as a customer and for allowing me to enjoy such a beautiful model.
Really quite exquisite model. The manufacturing is to a high standard and the decoration is flawless, despite the complexity of the livery on Evening Star. Lovely rendition of colouring. Very fine bell fitted uniquely on this example. Arrived with all bits attached to the model. Runs generally smoothly although slight judder which I hope will disappear with running in, otherwise I've no doubt Accurascale support will resolve. Box is very attractive.
Absolute perfection. A superb model in every way. If only all model locomotives were like this!

Fabulous Evening from the Accurascale boys yet again!
Previous 'other' versions were good, this is much better and i look forward to the 66 being a mainstay of the Accurascale fleet for many a year to come.
I love my Hattons Class 66’s but Accurascale have refined this model to perfection! Details, coupling heights (for Kadee) are perfect and very smooth running motor makes for a flawless model. I want to buy more if they do another run and I highly recommend this loco to anyone!
Keep up the great work Accurascale - I’m now looking forward to the Class 60
