This is a very good speaker at a very good price and sounds terrific with my Accurascale 66. Very easy to install with the appropriate Accurascale speaker clips.

Having recently returned to the hobby I have been fascinated and delighted to explore DCC i am particularly interested in re-creating realistic sound. In my opinion the Accurathrash speaker combined with the best sound decoders results in unparalleled realism. Can you tell that I am happy with my purchase….?

Cannot say more than this is an excellent speaker that really enhances the sound files of Accurascale locos.

Got this for my Class 66 and the sound re-production is pretty much spot on, I would say this Accurathrash 8ohm speaker is much more refined and better sounding than the legendary EM2.
Well done Accurascale on another fine product.

Great sound and so easy to fit in loco

A great speaker as are all the Accurathrash “big-boy” bass’s. The 4 ohm speakers perform extremely well, but in my opinion, using the 8 ohm version is a little kinder to the decoder amplifier. Fair enough, you might be slightly down in maximum volume, but do you need to hear your loco from fifty metres away? Add a sugar cube and 4 ohm bass speaker, and you run the risk of overloading the amp in your rather expensive sound decoder. Having had two Zimo decoders fry their amps in another manufacturers locomotive, and being unable to detect anything wrong with the wiring or speaker installation, I’m left to wonder whether the chip couldn’t handle driving two speakers wired (out of the factory) in parallel. For this reason alone, I’m certainly in favour of the slightly higher impedance when a second speaker is going to be added. I’d certainly recommend them. 👍
